About Me
Hi, I'm Emily Proano, a college student living in the vibrant Tampa Bay Area. I moved here in April of 2024 after spending six wonderful years in Colorado. My time in Colorado was filled with memorable experiences, from participating in various clubs and sports to caring for two family members who recently passed away. These experiences have profoundly shaped who I am today.
Growing up, I faced my own health challenges. I have an autoimmune disorder and my twin has type 1 diabetes. These personal experiences have fueled my passion for the medical field. I'm particularly interested in researching autoimmune disorders and diabetes, hoping to make a difference in the lives of those affected by these conditions.
I have a deep interest in reading medical research papers and am passionate about educating my generation about current findings in medicine. I believe that knowledge is power, and by understanding the latest medical advancements, we can make more informed decisions about our health and well-being. I strive to bridge the gap between complex medical research and everyday understanding, making important information accessible and engaging for everyone.
Not only do I enjoy diving into research articles, but I also love reading regular books, including both the classics and modern reads. My passion for art history, especially the works of artists like Fragonard and Matisse, and my fascination with ancient architecture, provide a creative balance to my scientific pursuits. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about learning and educating others on skin health and skincare, as I believe that taking care of our skin is an essential aspect of overall health.
One of my favorite hobbies is cooking. I love experimenting with healthy but delicious recipes, finding joy in creating meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable. Cooking allows me to combine my interest in health with my love for good food, and I enjoy sharing my culinary creations with family and friends.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
